System hooked up with ease. App was easy to navigate and set up. Syncing of the devices to the hub was smooth, Labeling and Mounting of the smoke detectors went quick and a quick test demonstrated that it works. Only wish… I wish I could add carbon ‘monoxide detection to the system.

I bought the two piece set as a starter kit to see if it was easy to connect and if it really worked, and so far my experience has been very good. The packaging has detailed and easy to understand instructions on how to connect, test the connection and disconnect if needed. To activate it you simply mount it in the desired position using the mounting plate and then mount the smoke alarms on the mounting plate so that they turn on automatically. This has brought considerable extra convenience and safety to my large house.

It seems you have to test the system with a real alarm, or maybe that's the only way I can get all the units to alarm. Holding down the test button did not make all the units alarm. However, when I used canned smoke, all the units went into alarm mode and made that annoying noise.

They are very easy to install and even easier to attach together. Just make sure you choose one as the main one. I used the one in the living room as the main control. They work well and they both make a sound when one of them detects smoke. I know because I burned dinner the other night and they both made a sound. Worth a try.

FAQs

Will this smoke alarm work without being paired to the base station?: Yes. If the alarm is disconnected from the base station, it will continue to operate as a wireless interconnected smoke alarm. You will also see "Offline" on the app's device list and receive a push notification.

How much does the app cost?: Nothing yet. You will receive push notifications via the X-Sense Home Security app at no cost.

How can I add more users to the X-Sense Home Security app for monitoring the alarms on their phones as well?: Go to the alarm’s Device Settings and select Device Sharing. Add your family and friends to the system by entering their X-Sense account email addresses. This way all users will receive notifications and can control the devices in their app.

Can I add additional smoke alarms after the system is set up?: Yes! You can pair up to 50 smoke alarms with the same base station to give your home full protection. For more details, please refer to the user manual.

Can it communicate with other Link⁺ series alarms?: The XS01-M devices can be connected to other Link⁺ series alarms without a base station, as well as through a Wi-Fi network to the base station. You can choose only one of these connection options.
When connected to the SBS50 base station, the XS01-M devices communicate with each other and can be controlled through the app. If one device is triggered, all will sound an alarm. However, the XS01-M devices cannot communicate with other Link+ device models.
If you want the XS01-M devices to communicate with other Link⁺ devices, please refer to the user manual and follow the instructions for connecting them. Keep in mind that doing so will disable app controls and notifications.
