Installed 6 of these X-Sense Model XP02-AR smoke/CO detectors in our home because of reviews but now looking for some way to dim the green light. It's extremely and annoyingly bright and lights up every room we have them installed. Is there any way to dim the light short of covering it with duct tape???
The performance of the c 02 detector and smoke detector seemed great, but the mounting of them was a nightmare. The receptacle outlets in my house work a 16th of an inch below the drywall that made putting the included mounting plates on impossible so that the smoke detector would attach to it. Had to get a mounting plate to go over the existing receptacle and then mountain and connect the smoke detector to that. The plugs for the smoke detector.
Were unique and I could not find an adapter that would fit for. Had to fashion my own adapter. What should have been a 2 to 3 hour install took 2 weeks between ordering 3 orders on Amazon. Wish I had returned them when I started having problems
I replaced the year 2004 smoke-only detectors in my brother-in-law’s house. They are sharp looking! Added heat detectors to the garage, kitchen and attic. Added water leak sensors to the laundry room and bathrooms! Now, I'm just waiting for a “listener” or “relay” to tie the hardwired sensors to the hub.
